Send purple flowers this week

by webdev

September 19, 2011

September is World Alzheimer's Month, and the Alzheimer's Association is seeking to turn the world purple on Wednesday in honor of those who have fought the disease and those who are still fighting to find a cure for it.

The organization has declared Wednesday Alzheimer's Action Day, and is urging supporters to wear purple and turn their Facebook pages purple by setting their profile picture as the purple END ALZ logo. Wednesday, or any day this month, is a perfect time to send purple flowers to someone who is affected by Alzheimer's disease.

Purple flowers send a message of pride, dignity and admiration, which is only appropriate for a loved one who is battling the cognitive disease. They are also perfect for someone who has cared for someone who is afflicted. They also serve as perfect sympathy flowers if someone's loved one has been taken by the disease.

You can send flowers online - choose from soft purple roses or a gorgeous arrangement of freesia, aster flowers and larkspur to send a message of support for a cure for this disease, which is the sixth leading cause of death in the U.S. and the only one in the top 10 without a cure.
