TELEFLORA CELEBRATES 25 YEARS OF EDUCATING FLORISTS
Teleflora’s Education Center Announces 2009 Line-U
LOS ANGELES (December 15, 2008) – Teleflora, the world’s leading floral wire service offering only hand-arranged, hand-delivered flower arrangements by local florists, announced today its 2009 Education Center schedule. The Teleflora Education Center, based in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma is celebrating 25 years as the industry's only wire service sponsored education center that has consistently provided continuing education for florist. The founder of American Floral Services, Inc. (AFS), Herman Meinders, opened the school so those florists engaged in the trade had a place to go where they could gain some new and valuable knowledge that could be used to build a more profitable business.
“Who would have guessed that when Eulalah Overmeyer convinced Herman Meinders to start Teleflora’s Education Center back in 1984 that more than 5,000 designers would have benefited from classes taught by the finest instructors in the U.S., as well as international group designers,” said Marie Ackerman AIFD PFCI AAF, Vice President, Education. “We are proud that our facility is now the largest, featuring custom built classrooms with the latest equipment and AV capabilities. Designers are sure to be excited about the classes we have planned for next year. As always, they will provide florist useful information that will help increase sales and traffic into their floral shops.”
Classes held at the education center kick off in March of 2009 and continue through October. They cover a wide range of topics including floral design that focus on
