TELEFLORA ANNOUNCES PARTNERSHIP WITH THE INJURED MARINE SEMPER FI FUND
Teleflora Offers 12 Stunning Arrangements to Help Raise Funds for a Worthy Cause
LOS ANGELES (May 20, 2008) – Teleflora, the world’s leading floral service offering the best choice in floral arrangements and convenient same-day local delivery by Teleflora florists, announced today the launch of an on-going partnership with the Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund, a nonprofit 501 (c) 3 organization that has provided over 8,000 grants totaling more than $21 million in assistance to our Nation's wounded heroes and families. As part of this partnership, Teleflora will offer a variety of unique arrangements as part of its patriotic bouquet category on teleflora.com, Flowerclub.com and USAA.com through the end-of-the-year. Every time a consumer purchases one of the floral arrangements, Teleflora will donate 10% of the purchase price to the organization.
“As a veteran myself, I am pleased to announce Teleflora’s new partnership with an organization that provides financial assistance to those Marines wounded in combat or injured in combat-related training,” said Shawn Weidmann, president, Teleflora. “It is only fitting that we kick-off this partnership around Memorial Day, a time when Americans honor all soldiers who have fought for our country. We expect these arrangements to help drive consumer awareness of an important and worthy organization.”
Each arrangement in the patriotic category will be available all year and was specifically designed to symbolize the sprit of freedom including Teleflora’s American Spirit and the Red, White and True bouquets. Teleflora’s American Sprit bouquet presented in a classic ivory pitcher with an American flag is a lovely arrangement full of red gerberas and matsumoto asters, white button spray chrysanthemums and alstroemeria and blue iris. Similarly the Red, White and True arrangement is a beautiful grand bouquet of red roses mixed with white blossoms and blue delphinium in a cobalt glass sweetheart vase.
“We are delighted that Teleflora has chosen our organization to benefit from the proceeds of their patriotic bouquet lineup,” said Wendy Lethin, director of community relations, Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund. “The needs of our wounded and their families remain many and great, and this is a beautiful way for America to honor our service members all year.”
