With a signature style recognized for its warmth and accessibility, Susan Winget's art exudes her passion for life. Surrounded by horses, cows and wildlife on her 80-acre farm in North Carolina, Susan's home provides constant inspiration for her numerous collections. From farm animals and farmhouses, to vivid florals, wine themes and beautiful countrysides, she never ceases to see design ideas in the world around her.

When Susan graduated from UNC Chapel Hill and married her husband, Al, her hope was to start her own art studio and make enough "butter and egg" money to help support her family while staying home with her children. Looking back, sheĺs amazed to see how far they've come! Susan began her business in 1982 in her home painting small watercolors that she sold for $8.50 at the Atlanta Gift Mart. She shipped 9000 paintings from her garage that first year.

In 1987, she partnered with Lang Graphics to develop her first calendar, Heart & Home, recording her love for family and farm life in each of the 12 paintings. As her business grew, Susan realized she needed more space to work, so she built a studio in the pasture behind her house. The studio became not just a place to nurture the business, but it was almost like a second home. Her children loved spending hours out there with her each and every day. In 1992, she began to work with her agent who brought a whole new vision to the studio. She began designing for a variety of home decor products. Now Susan's art touches everything from dinnerware and home accessories to stationery and children's books! Over the past few years, Susan's business has continued to grow and she moved into an even larger studio in 2002! One of the greatest joys of her career has been the relationships that have developed over the years; with her staff, her licensees, and the wonderful support from those who appreciate her products.

Susan's artwork has been seen at such major national venues as the White House, Colonial Williamsburg and the National Trust.
