Surprise the kids with an end of summer BBQ

It's that time of year again for kids around the nation. Soon the dog days of summer will be over and youngsters will instead have to begin studying for exams and doing homework. Although the end of summer and start of the new school year can be a real bummer for youngsters, there are certain ways parents can improve the mood of their kids.

A great way to send summer off in style is to host an end-of-summer themed party. Let the kids invite some of their closest friends over for a barbecue-style bash. Make sure to have all of the party necessities on hand including meat and veggies for the grill, buns and fun side dishes. Keep the kids entertained will slip-n-slides or even by filling up tons of water balloons for them to throw at each other to keep cool in the August heat.
