Practicing candle safety during the holidays

Candles are one of the easiest and most elegant ways to make your home feel cozy and festive, especially if you are decorating for the holiday season. Lit candles should never be placed on a table or other location where they can easily be knocked down. Be careful of which spots may fall victim to wagging dog tails or stray elbows. It you decorate for Christmas with flowers or greens, always make sure they are properly hydrated, as dry greens, including a Christmas tree, can burn like tinder, the organization reports.
