Plan now to see blossoms in Amsterdam

A spring-time trip to Amsterdam or surrounding areas is ideal for flower enthusiasts.

Though there are many greenhouses in the Netherlands that feature blossoming flowers throughout the year, during the months of April and May, outdoor gardens that host daffodils, hyacinths, roses, crocuses and of course tulips burst to life, according to International Business Times.

The Keukenhof gardens, which are located about 25 miles from Amsterdam, are the home to some of the best tulip displays in Holland. There are nine miles of footpaths that wander through the more than 7 million flowers in bloom.

For those who want to buy flowers, the Singel market and the Aalsmeer flower auction both offer a chance for tourists to purchase some of the Netherlands's famous blossoming beauties, according to the news source.

If you're traveling on a budget, you can see many flowers for free at the Amstelpark, a public green space that has a rosarium, rhododendron garden and a Belgium cloister garden.
