Flowers won Carla Bruni over

by webdev

September 30, 2011

It was French President Nicolas Sarkozy's knowledge of gardening that drew former supermodel Carla Bruni to him, The Los Angeles Times reports.

In a recent interview with the BBC World Service, Bruni, now France's first lady, explained how she was impressed and charmed by the president's knowledge of the Latin names of the flowers in the Elysée Palace gardens.

"He was giving me all these details about tulips and roses and I said to myself: 'My God, I must marry this man, he's the president, and he knows everything about flowers as well. This is incredible,'" she said in the interview.

The couple, who wed in February 2008 after Sarkozy divorced his second wife, is now expecting their first baby together, the news source reports.

While impressive, men don't need to know the ins and outs of botany to choose a lovely bouquet of roses or sunflowers for their special someone. Whether you choose autumn flowers, aster bouquets or a gift basket, it is easy to send flowers online to show a loved one that you care.
