Flowers on Display at D&G Show

In Milan, warm-weather themes were all the rage at Fashion Week.

Fashion label Dolce & Gabbana recently showcased their Spring-Summer 2011 fashion line at the Milan Fashion Week and, according to The Canadian Press, flowers and other outdoor icons adorned many of the outfits on the runway.

One model wearing a designer apron and high-heeled rubber boots strutted her stuff on a runway lined with flowers. She held a gardening bag, suggesting she was on her way to the backyard to gather a few cut flowers for a bouquet.

The invitations to the event were also adorned with floral arrangements, and giant screens around the venue showcased various garden scenes. To bring the theme together, the audience was treated to sounds of birds tweeting.

Flowers were part of both the beach-wear items and the evening gowns at the event. According to the news source, flounced chiffon dresses were elegantly decorated with floral prints.

While some may already be looking forward to next summer, there are plenty of flowers that blossom during the fall season. According to Better Homes and Gardens, blossoms that grow this time of year include aster and sweet autumn clematis.
