Flowers are the perfect back-to-school teacher gift

With the start of school, many parents are at a loss for what to get their child's teacher. Whether it is the same person who created a great curriculum for your child last year or someone new who will be responsible for his or her education this year, a teacher's contribution to your child's development and success deserves to be recognized.

Apples are the classic gift, but this is outdated and cliché - today, teachers are paid enough to buy their own apples, and may appreciate a gift with more substance. School supplies or teacher-themed ornaments, figurines or crafts are likely to end up in the teacher's junk pile - many longtime educators will probably roll their eyes when talking about the hundreds of apple-themed gifts they receive each year.

Flowers, on the other hand, are something that all teachers will appreciate. No matter the age, grade or familiarity of the teacher, a floral arrangement or bouquet will brighten up his or her desk and week. A bright bouquet of gerbera daisies will add pep to the classroom, and Teleflora's Sunny Day Pitcher of Cheer is certainly make someone smile.
