Event draws men for Valentine's prep
by

January 31, 2011
The first annual Beers, Burgers and Bouquet event is being hosted at the Enjoy Center in St. Alberta, Canada, the day before Valentine's Day. The event aims to encourage reluctant husbands and boyfriends to prepare bouquets for their loved ones, according to Saint City News.
The hosts are trying to attract participants by offering them a chance to mingle with local sports celebrities, some of whom will also be learning how to arrange flowers.
Upon arrival, each guest will receive two beers and a hamburger while they get to watch the famous personalities attempt to create their own bouquets. After that, it's their turn to find out the right combination of buds to
send to wife
or family.
The event will also be charitable, as all the proceeds are being donated toward the acquisition of treatment equipment for the Lois Hole Hospital for Women in Edmonton.
Edmonton Eskimos offensive lineman Patrick Kabongo, who will be at the occasion, told the news provider that this could be a real show of support by men for their wives, loved ones and the patients at the facility.
Those who are looking to
send flowers for Valentine's Day
may opt for unconventional options - McClatchy Newspapers recommends cyclamens, hydrangea and begonias as an alternative to roses.
