The New Jersey Flower & Garden Show opened on Thursday, February 17 and will last until Sunday. The event offers a glimpse of countless unique gardens that are sure to please children and adults alike, according to The Star-Ledger.

The theme of this year's show, "Regards to Broadway," has inspired countless gardens that reflect the theme of a certain musical. This includes Mary Poppins, Beauty and the Beast, Barefoot in the Park, and seven others. Each one will have famous characters and animals from the productions.

These contemporary floral arrangements are sure to please children especially, who will immediately recognize friendly characters such as Shrek, who will be present in one of the gardens.

Amateur gardeners will also get to benefit from in-depth seminars by experts, covering topics such as fresh flower care, how to prevent deer from eating plants, landscape planning and gardening with birds and butterflies.

There will also be a competitive Container Challenge, which is inspired by the cook-offs of the popular TV show Iron Chef. Contestants will have a limited amount of time to design a crowd-pleasing garden in a small pot, according to a separate article from The Star-Ledger.
