Boston Flower show commemorates spring
by
webdev
March 21, 2011
Many different flower shows are being celebrated across the country with the arrival of spring. The Boston Flower and Garden Show offered visitors a little of everything - from gardens to landscapes to caricatures made from
spring flowers
- for four days at the Seaport World Trade Center, according to The North Andover Patch.
This year, the theme was A Burst of Color: Celebrating the Container Garden. One of the displays evoked images of the United Kingdom's "Wendy house," which was designed to look like a quaint tree house. Another garden took viewers' attention with the calm and refreshing addition of a koi pond.
In addition to these impressive exhibits, the news source reports that there were at least 180 vendors offering
flower gifts
and other fun accessories to attendees.
The event's website states that there were cooking demonstrations performed by farmers and chefs showcasing a variety of cooking methods and unique meals. They all emphasized the importance of using containers in order to effectively grow herbs, fruits and vegetables.
Every garden had a unique container - ranging from an urn to topiary to a bed to ceramics.
