Billy Joel presents bouquet to Alexa Ray

Rock and roll singer Billy Joel congratulated his daughter, performer Alexa Ray Joel, over her new residency at a New York hotel, sending her a big bouquet of flowers on Monday, her opening night.

Alexa is due to perform a set of shows at the Plaza Hotel's Oak Room, where her mother Christie Brinkley came to watch her opening set this week. Billy was unable to make it due to his recent double hip replacement surgery, but promised to attend a show once he has recovered, opting to send flower gifts in place of himself, SeattlePi.com reports.
