Fresh floral arrangements will be displayed alongside artwork from the Tacoma Art Museum’s permanent collection for the Flora & Fine Arts exhibit from June 11-12.
The exhibition will include nearly three dozen floral arrangements by 29 local designers inspired by the art pieces.

"Showcasing art in new and exciting ways while showcasing local, talented designers is an opportunity for the museum to connect people through art in unexpected ways," said Stephanie A. Stebich, Director of the Tacoma Art Museum.

According to the Seattle Times, the floral designers will use fresh flowers, leaves, branches and twigs to create pieces that complement selected art pieces that include jewelry, photographs, sculpture and paintings.

"It'll be a treat to see pieces by artists like Morris Graves, Mary Randlett, Fay Jones and Dale Chihuly alongside flower arrangements designed to complement them," exhibit curator Rock Hushka told the newspaper.

The museum partnered with the Tacoma Garden Club to entice members as well as prominent Puget Sound floral designers to create dazzling floral arrangements inspired by the colors, textures and compositions of the art.

"We've had an unbelievable response from the floral community hungry to showcase their work," Molly Regimbal, chairwoman of the event for the Tacoma Garden Club, told the Seattle Times.
